I found this place when I got lost coming from a service center in Cavite. Frustrated, I asked myself why did this this happen? I thought I’m familiar with this road already. So I looked for a site to make a u-turn and saw the grand dome of the Palazzo Britanny from afar. It’s a place I’m familiar with since I attended a wedding here years ago. When I took the small road leading there, I saw a row of potted bougainvillea along the way and decided to go further up and see this magnificent palazzo again. Then I saw it, this coffee shop encased in glass beside the palazzo.

It was called the Glass House by the Coffee Project. As I entered the coffeeshop, I was just enthralled, it was like walking inside a dream. Sorry for sounding a bit over but I was just impressed by its interiors. Inside were a number glass chandeliers hanging above damask covered and French-inspired furniture. It was surrounded by hanging fern plants and potted plants on the side, a fusion of elegance and nature. I also liked this small lion head water fountain near the counter. It added another creative highlight to the café.

After wandering about a bit and taking some IG worthy photos, I ordered their Carnival and Sweet Basil iced tea and their Shrimp and Chorizo Pesto pasta. The iced tea tasted both sweet and a bit sour at the same time, but it was refreshing. It was topped with this dehydrated lemon slice that was interesting and came in a ruby red color that I liked.

The shrimp and chorizo pasta meanwhile was a mound of pesto spaghetti topped with shrimps and chorizo slices. The shrimps were juicy and the chorizo slices were tasty, adding more flavor and depth to the pasta dish. Looking around the place after the meal, I told myself, I’ll come back again.

So I did. The second time I went here was my birthday with my family. I ordered their roasted salmon with mashed potato and my husband ordered the All-American breakfast meal. My son had this chicken confit with truffle sauce.

I liked their salmon dish. It was well-cooked with a bit of crispness outside. I also liked the chunky mashed potato that came with it too. I’m a fan of any mashed potato side dishes and this one had a thick texture and was tasty too so it was a good match to my roasted salmon.

I also ordered the Glasshouse view drink which had this light blue color that looked like the color of a sunny blue sky and the color of a turquoise ocean. It looked better in a goblet than in a plastic cup and had sweet lychee and mint pieces in it too.

For dessert, we shared the luscious French toast topped with cream, blueberry sauce and strawberries with our coffee and tea.

I paired mine with their mix dried fruit tea. I liked the heart-shaped cup that came with it. It looked so romantic and dreamy like this place.

Overall, going to Glasshouse Coffee Project is a visual feast not only for the eyes but also for the palate as they have prepared their dishes with the same creative flair as their surroundings too. The beautiful landscaping outside and the intricately designed interiors made it easy for me to forget that it’s a weekday and I have to pick up my son from school after enjoying this sweet escape of a coffeeshop.

I wouldn’t mind going back here again with friends and have some coffee or tea. Maybe we’ll sit beside the cafe window and look at the fairy tale like carriages outside. So I guess next time when I get lost again, I’ll try not to question the heavens why because that detour may lead me to another hidden gem like this one again.
